“The book reminded me most of Marion Zimmer Bradley’s The Mists of Avalon in its fascination with Avalon, priestesses, feminine divinity, spiritual power, and the way religious duty becomes tangled with politics and personal identity. Azinger takes those ingredients into a more contemporary romantasy direction, with fae factions, supernatural bonds, playful banter, hidden powers, and a developing attraction between Magdalene and Talorc. Their romance is a slow burn.”
